The Story Behind the Brands We Stock

Tricker’s is one of the longest established shoemakers in England, founded in 1829 by Joseph Tricker. Their reputation for outstanding manufacturing quality has established Tricker’s as one of the most respected shoemakers in the World.

The Tricker’s factory, located at 56-60 St Michael’s Rd, Northampton, opened its doors in 1904. Tricker's footwear is made entirely from start to finish at their Northampton factory and, whilst manufacturing processes have changed over time, their craftsmen and women continue to follow traditional techniques.

Today Tricker’s boots and shoes are known for their exacting quality, incomparable comfort, individuality and irreproachable character. Tricker’s was granted an official Royal Warrant in the 1980s; a designation which allows them to display the royal arms.

Joseph Cheaney & Son’s was founded in 1886. In 1896, they moved to the site which the factory occupies today on Station Road, Desborough, Northamptonshire. It is here that the shoes go through the entire handmade manufacturing process using Goodyear Welted Construction.

Their shoes are not only made using the best handmade techniques and tools, but the materials are also of the highest possible quality. All of these factors ensure that when you buy Joseph Cheaney & Son’s Shoes, you are buying a pair of shoes that you can be proud of.
